Begin jaren negentig scoren de broers Martin & Bobby Boer onder de naam 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor een tweetal hits in Nederland met Can't Help Myself en Turn Da Music Up. Na deze singles besluiten de broers het project in 1994 nieuw leven in te blazen en benaderen hiervoor zangeres DesRay (Desiree Manders) en rapper D-Rock (René Phillips).


In deze nieuwe combinatie scoort de groep de ene Top 10 hit na de andere in Nederland en de rest van Europa. Never Alone, de eerste single in de nieuwe formatie, behaalde in 1993 de goudstatus. De opvolger Dreams werd in Nederland uitgeroepen tot Alarmschijf, eveneens bekroond met goud en werd de eerste nummer 1 hit van 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor.


Na deze gouden start scoorde de groep internationale hits met singles als Let Me Be Free, Fly Through The Starry Night, Come Take My Hand, Fairytales, Mirror Of Love, There's A Key, One Day, I'm Thinkin Of U, Do You Know?, The Sun Will Be Shining & Heaven Is Here.
Na acht succesvolle jaren houdt 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor er begin 2001 officieel mee op en besluiten DesRay & D-Rock zich te gaan richten op hun andere succesvolle activiteiten. Zo studeert Desiree Manders cum laude af aan het Hilversumse Conservatorium en is René Phillips in deze periode succesvol met CMC Records en het TMF programma The Pitch
